SIX CHANNEL 173 MHz RECEIVER
This is a small lightweight six memory channel receiver designed to allow quick, easy and accurate location of a transmitter on the 173MHz band. It provides excellent sensitivity and can determine the direction of a signal many kilometres or miles away; it also provides enough attenuation to accurately determine the direction of signals right up to the source without suffering from overload or saturation effects.
Signal strength indication is provided by an audible tone that increases in frequency (pitch) with increasing signal level. This design feature is because the human ear is much more sensitive to changes in pitch than change in sound level. There are also no inertia or overshoot problems as tend to occur with normal signal strength meters.
